A teacher, not just a class.
I'm Noura Hassan Elshishtawy, and I've been teaching for more than 12 years — starting in English language education, and since 2015 teaching Qur'an, Tajweed, and Arabic alongside it. Since 2021 I've focused specifically on the Qur'an at Al Azhar Qur'an Teaching Institute, working one-on-one with non-Arabic speaking students — children and adults — from the US, Canada, England, and India.
I hold an Ijazah in Hafs 'an Asim through the Shatibiyyah (2022), and I've memorized the entire Qur'an. My original training is actually in English education, at Tanta University's Faculty of Education — and I bring that same structured, patient approach to every lesson, whether we're working on pronunciation, building toward memorization, or just getting comfortable reading for the first time.
وَرَتِّلِ الْقُرْآنَ تَرْتِيلًا
"…and recite the Qur'an in a slow, measured recitation."
Qur'an 73:4

What students and parents say
Alhamdulillah, learning with you has been one of the greatest blessings Allah has given me. Your classes have not only helped me memorise the Qur'an, but they have also changed the way I understand my relationship with Allah.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Arabic language teacher, Noura Elshishtawy, for the genuine effort she puts into her teaching. She is deeply invested emotionally in the student's learning process and is always available to answer any questions, even outside of lesson hours. I chose her based on a recommendation, and I am absolutely delighted with my choice.
Gulnarah

Nishat
Arabic student, Australia
Studying with Noura has truly been a gift. She has such a gentle, patient way of teaching that makes even the difficult parts of Tajweed feel manageable, and she always takes the time to make sure I really understand — not just memorize. Every lesson leaves me feeling closer to the Qur'an and more confident in my recitation.

Frequently asked questions
No. Many students start from zero — lessons begin wherever you actually are, including learning the letters for the first time.
Most children begin around age 5, once they can sit through a short, focused session. Lessons are paced to the child, not a set curriculum.
All lessons are held online, so you can join from anywhere in the world — all you need is a stable internet connection.
A regular lesson is 40 minutes. The free trial is a shorter 15-minute introduction, so you can get a feel for lessons before booking a full session.
